WHAT CANCER "CANNOT" DO - 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer.

Dear Family, Friends and Strangers,

I did it, I went and committed myself! Not to where you're probably thinking, unless you were thinking about the 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer in Chicago. The walk begins in Kenosha and ends 60 miles later in Chicago. The event is held in June and hopefully with your support I can help make a difference. I moved to the States less than a year ago and don't know very many people. I'm putting everything I have into this journey to raise much needed money for many people whom I will never meet. For those who don't know me that's okay, I will never know the people in desparate need of our help either. Not only have I committed to walking but also to raise a minimum of $1900.00's. The monies raised will fund non-profit breast cancer health programs in every region of the country and for ongoing medical research on breast cancer.

The statics are frightening. 180,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, over 40,000 will die. Women are not alone, did you know 1,500 men will be diagnosed and each year and 400 will not survive. As a women my chances are 1 in 8.

I'm asking you to help me reach my pledge and personal goal by making a fully tax deductible donation to the Avon Products Foundation Inc., a non profit organization operating exclusively for charitable and education purposes. If you wish to make a donation on line go to www.breastcancer3day.com and click on "Make an on Line Donation" located at the top of the site. My walker number is 8725 and event code is 3DCH-2002. For more information visit www.bethepeople.com and clicking on the "Avon 3 Day event". I've provided other information sites, click "links" to the left and choose a site. Even if you are unable to help financially, you can still contribute by taking time to say a prayer for the survivors, their families and the many who lost their lives to this dreadful disease. If you're just passing through, don't forget to sign my guestbook, I would love to hear from you! Your generousity means more to me than you realize.

What Cancer Cannot Do
Cancer is so limited -
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot destroy peace.
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot suppress memories.
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul.
It cannot steal eternal life
and it cannot conquer the spirit.
In Memory of my Grandma Jeanie.

Thank-you for your time, pledges, thoughts, prayers and support.

Laura Reid.
